Allison Rosendale M.Ed, CCLS President Shriner's Hospital for Children Springfield, MA
Allison has worked with children and
their families for over 23 years. She holds a M.Ed from Cambridge College in Education/Integrated Studies. Her experience
includes work with children and families at risk - special needs in both educational and healthcare environments. Her professional
areas of interest are in improving the healthcare system for children and families, mentoring students, and in promoting the
NECLP mission. She is currently the Child Life Supervisor at Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, MA.
Colleen Hynes MS, CCLS Vice President Children's Hospital Boston at Waltham Waltham,
MA
Colleen received her BA in Social
and Rehabilitation Services from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. In 1999, Colleen received her MS
in Child Life and Family Centered Care from Wheelock College. After graduating, Colleen worked at Franciscan
Hospital for Children in Boston, MA for seven years. While working at Franciscan, she was also the Program
Coordinator for the Good Grief Program and an Adjunct Instructor for Child Life at Wheelock College. She
is currently working at Children's Hospital, Boston at Waltham in Waltham, MA.
Rachel Alley BS, CCLS Treasurer Baystate Medical Center Springfield, MA
Rachel received her BS degree
in Rehabilitaion Services with a concentration in pediatrics from Springfield College. She has worked at Baystate
Children's Hospital since 1992. She originally started the in-hospital school program, co-facilitated a school-age bereavement
group for 7 years, and primarily works inpatient with the infant/toddler population. Rachel also coordinates the
student internship program at Baystate. She recently
became a Certified Infant Massage Instructor and looks forword to incorporating this into her practice.
Karen Swartz MS, CCLS Secretary Hasbro Children's Hospital Providence, RI
Karen Swartz is a
Certified Child Life Specialist. She received both her Bachelor’s
and Master’s Degrees from Wheelock College. In Boston she received her BS in Human Development with a concentration in Child
Life and a MS in Child Life and Family-Centered Care. She has
worked at Hasbro since 1999, starting as the Child Life Specialist coordinating the STARBRIGHT World Computer Program. She now works in the Pediatric GI and Nutrition Clinic and the Pediatric Heart Center. Currently,
she co-facilitates the IBD patient support group. Laurie Corbett
MS, CCLS Member-at-Large/Webmaster Floating Hospital for Children Boston, MA
Laurie Corbett is
a Certified Child Life Specialist. She received both her Bachelor’s
and Master’s Degrees from Wheelock College in Boston, MA. She received her BS in Human Development with
a concentration in Child Life and a MS in Child Life and Family-Centered Care. She
previously worked at UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center on the Pediatric Inpatient Unit, serving medical and surgical
patients, and in the Pediatric Emergency Department. She currently works in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Floating
Hospital for Children. Laurie is also a certified hypnotherapist.
Erin Lavallee
BS, CCLS Member-at-Large UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center Worcester, MA
Erin has worked with children and families for over 15 years.
She received her BS in Human Development with a concentration in Child Life from Wheelock College. Her experience
includes working in a Spanish kindergarten, working with mothers and their children living in a battered women's shelter
and several years in the Hasbro Children's Hospital Emergency Department. She has worked the Coordinator of
Child Life Services at North Shore Children's Hospital in Salem, MA. Erin is currently the Child Life Specialist in the
NICU at UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Her professional areas of interest are bereavement
issues, family centered care and the arts in healthcare.
